Material
Gel coat: Vinyl ester is the main raw material for making gel coat. Pay attention to the temperature resistance, gloss and crack resistance of the mold.
Surface, temperature and crack resistance are also issues. A veil can improve the likelihood of cracking.
Core: It is the key part of FRP, pay attention to the mechanical distribution and prestress of the reinforcement.
Back: Pay attention to strength, water resistance and weather resistance.
Fillers, nano-calcium carbonate, and fibrous silica powder can improve the dimensional stability of the mold.
Equipment
The hand lay-up process is a relatively simple and easy process. The brush is the main tool, try to choose a brush with even bristles.
The disc roller can be used to remove air bubbles, and during the fusion process of reinforcing reinforcement material and resin, removing excess resin is an important procedure to improve the quality of FRP.
Process
The main mold needs to be demolded. Stir the gel coat resin slowly during the process to avoid air bubbles. The first coat does not need to be applied too much, just keep the surface evenly coated. After the gel coat has cured, a second resin coating is applied. After the two layers of resin are cured, the third resin coating is carried out. The lamination operation is repeated until the design thickness of the product is reached, and finally it is cured and formed under normal temperature or heating conditions.
